Worst vet in Hudson County! Clever sneaky Sweet talker vet clinic who will sweet talk you out of hundreds and thousands of dollars and overmedicate your dogs and cats potentially leading to your pet's death! Beware. You come in thinking maybe your visit will cost $90 or $100 with meds included and are fooled by the lower than other vets $45 basic exam fee. Instead you walk out with nearly a $200 receipt every time!! At least Jersey City Animal Hospital gives you a breakdown of all prices and the option to decline certain services before they begin administering and treating your pet. BUT NOT money hungry SNEAKY Dr. Zalis. Dr. Zalis sets a poor standard for vets and medical workers in her own clinic by pumping dogs and cats with medications and shots they DON'T need. This is the way she makes her money:
1. Front desk and Dr Zalis sweet talk pet owners throughout the visit and in the exam room. And she sweet talks them out of hundreds to thousands of dollars!
2. Then, after she's got you sweet talked, she follows her usual script: says your dog or cat needs this shot and that shot. And she'll also prescribe unnecessary antibiotics on top of other medication plus a steroid or 2 as well.
DO yourself a favor as a pet parent: do your own extensive internet research as to how to help your pet before you visit Dr. Zalis and this clinic.
